Using the AI Editor

Prompt changes in plain language and watch them land on the canvas.

Two ways to prompt

Ask for a change and it applies straight to the canvas (3 credits) — or ask for a plan first and preview what it would do before committing (1 credit). Follow-ups build on what's already there, so a multi-step request doesn't need to be one giant prompt.

What it can and can't touch

Chat edits the component tree the same way the canvas and code editor do, including setting heading and body fonts by name. It's read-only on articles and content types though — it can see them as context for a prompt, but creating, editing, or deleting them happens in the Articles panel or Content Types, not through chat.

Images and context

Attach one reference image per message to steer a change visually — it informs that turn's response but isn't persisted in the conversation history afterward.

Model and limits

Chat runs on Claude Sonnet by default, with a 90-second timeout and a 16k-token response cap per turn. Add your own Anthropic API key in settings (BYOK) to bypass your plan's credit allotment entirely for AI calls.
